After Ved Van, Noida plans a park themed on planets

NOIDA: The Noida Authority plans to develop a new theme park, Nakshatra Van, in Sector 108, with trees representing 27 constellations, 12 zodiac signs and nine planets. The move follows the success of Ved Van in Sector 78 and a government directive to undertake dense plantations on green belts and implement theme-based development of parks, said officials.Additional CEO Vandana Tripathi said, The goal is to create a dense greenbelt with trees associated with nakshatras. People will visit the park for morning and evening walks and to get information about constellations, zodiac signs, and planets.Tripathi added that the tender for developing the green belt was issued earlier, but meanwhile, the Authority received the government order. Now, the plantation will be carried out accordingly. We will also create pathways for morning walks, perform landscaping, and set up benches, said Tripathi.There will be planting of trees and herbal plants like banyan, jamun, amla, palash, pipal, khair, agarwood, neem, plumeria, Ashoka and Kadamba in the park.The Noida Authority has started the process of hiring consultants who will provide insights and expertise in transforming more parks and green belts across the city. Officials said the initiative aims to maximise the efforts in beautifying green spaces, and the Authority expects to receive expert advice on various aspects, including selecting suitable plants and trees, from the selected consultants.Tripathi said the plan is to hire different consultants for different parks to ensure timely completion, with fresh ideas for each. There are currently no consultants guiding Noida Authority on beautifying or landscaping the green belts and parks in the city. We hired one for the Ved Van project, and it is quite successful, so we plan to replicate the same, she added.Some prominent parks in Noida include Biodiversity Park in Sector 91, Express View Park in Sector 93, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park in Sector 150, and Dalit Prerna Sthal in Sector 95, among others.
