Cops in plainclothes to catch snatchers, says SSP

Such officials, even if they are in my department, will be punished if found guilty," he said.He also talked about measures to streamline traffic movement in the city and observed that ongoing construction work has slowed the traffic movement in some parts of Noida.Further, Kumar assured that in cases of inter-state online frauds, joint investigation teams of cops and officials from Noida's Centre for Cyber Crime Investigation will be formed.Mentioning the recent attack on Nigerian students in Greater Noida , he said that the district police and administration have already taken some measures like arranging friendly matches and meetings to bridge the apparent divide. He said he has called for a list of foreign students who have been living or studying in the city."We will verify their credentials and ensure the validity of their documents — visa and passport. We will also ensure that they do not feel insecure in the city," he said.The SSP also urged the locals to cooperate with cops to ensure better policing.Kumar, who is former Saharanpur SSP, thwarted an alleged communal flare-up in the area last week. BJP MP Raghav Lakhanpal Sharma was also booked in the case. Kumar has been posted in 18 districts in the last 13 years.
