Vehicle buyers to get registration certificate via post only from May 1

NOIDA: Vehicle-buyers will now get their registration certificate (RC) via post from May 1 and not in hand as the transport department has decided to stop the arrangement from the next month.According to instructions issued by the transport commissioner K Ravindra Naik to RTOs and assistant regional transport officers (ARTOs) of all districts last week, applicants who want to get an RC made will have to submit a stamped envelope to the department along with other documents required.Transport department officials say that almost 95 per cent of applicants who apply for the RC come through the car/bike agency from whom they buy their vehicles.The department has already issued notices to such agencies in the district, instructing them to submit the stamped envelope for the concerned applicant."Most applicants seeking an RC come through the agency and not themselves.
