Or do they expect residents to clean their sector drains now? I want to ask what and where are they spending the money given by central/ state government for civic health upkeep?" According to the RWA, the responsibility of cleaning the drains and sprinkling larva repellents is that of Noida authority and district health department and not of RWAs.The RWA maintained that while its the residents who complain about lack of larva repellents in sectors, then how can they or RWAs be fined for the lack of it."We recieved a notice from additional CMO Gautam Budh Nagar on June 27 (Tuesday) stating that they found larva samples in the nalis (drains) in front of A1, A 2, A 7, A 8, A 9 and in front of A 39 in our sector and demanded that we clean it else we will be fined," N P Singh RWA president sector 35 told TOI.Seething in anger, Singh maintained that "isn't it the responsibility of Noida authority and district health department to clear drains and sprinkle anti larva repellents? Or do they expect residents to clean their sector drains now? I want to ask what and where are they spending the money given by central/ state government for civic health upkeep?" questions Singh.He further added that while it was residents, RWAs and its federation that has been raking the issue of mosquito threat especially during monsoon and demanding anti larva sprinkles in sector drains and parks then how come they are served a notice for the same? "Its like ulta chor kotwal ko datey (Its like the thief catches the police)," said Singh who demanded that the district health department and Noida authority should ensure that all sector drains are cleaned and sprinkled with anti larva chemical, else the RWA federation will take up the matter with the chief minister for non performance of civic duties.Singh also said that the sector 35 RWA will take the district health department to court if they insist on the notice served to them and do not take it back.Singh had a word with CMO Anurag Bhargav on Wednesday, who promised to look into the matter.
