Nithari Case: Spl CBI court pronounces death sentence

Nithari case had shaken the entire country in 2006. CBI court in Ghaziabad has finally pronounced the death sentence to the accused Moninder Singh Pandher and his domestic help Surinder Koli.

The sentiments had been high outside the court as the family members of Victims are demanding death sentence.
Earlier, a trial court on Saturday convicted Pandher and Koli of murdering a 20-year-old woman in Nithari village of Noida.
CBI special judge held Pandher and Koli guilty under Sections 302 (punishment for murder), 376 (punishment for rape), 364 (kidnapping in order to murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC.

Nithari Case – A flash back

The case came into the limelight in 2006 following missing of many girls in Nithari village
Girls were lured into Pandher’s house and killed after being raped
19 skeletons found from Pandher`s house on December 29, 2006
Koli sentenced to death in seven out of 16 cases
In 2009 Pandher was convicted by the trial court but acquitted by the Allahabad high court
Pandher and Koli were charge-sheeted in 16 of the 19 cases
Both have been awarded death sentence in killing of 20 years Pinki Sarkar
