Greater Noida: A 23-year-old student who was shot at by three bike-borne assailants for resisting robbery bid in Makoda area of Surajpur, died while undergoing treatment at Kailash Hospital early Sunday morning.The student, Tarun Kumar was a native of Aligarh and lived with his family members in Paramount Golf Foreste, who had shifted here six months back. Tarun's father Jagdish Kumar is a retired Indian railways official. The incident happened on Saturday evening when Tarun was returning from his coaching class from Delhi's Rajinder Nagar in his Ford car. Tarun had joined a coaching for the preparation of civil services exam."Three bike-borne criminals overtook his car and forced him to stop. They asked him to handover the vehicle. When Tarun refused, the criminals shot at his abdomen," said Jagdish Kumar. Tarun raised an alarm and the criminals fled, leaving him in the car at the spot. Nearby people rushed him to Kailash Hospital where doctors said his liver, intestine and pancreas were damaged. He succumbed to his injuries around 3 am.Tarun is survived by his parents and three sisters. "My son was killed for no reason. We demand police to arrest the criminals as soon as possible," said Jagdish Kumar. Amit Kishore Srivastava, circle officer - 1 Greater Noida, said the police have formed teams and they are making searches to arrest the criminals.
