Four men enter society, fire in air, guards catch one

NOIDA: A 30-year-old man was arrested on Thursday morning for allegedly barging into a high-rise society and opening fire in the air to threaten security guards in Sector 45. They then started arguing with the guards.At the same time, the security guards from different locations started gathering at the spot. Worried that they might get caught, the accused opened fire in the air and started fleeing the spot. They came to the spot and found the four men robbing a food delivery boy.

NOIDA: A 30-year-old man was arrested on Thursday morning for allegedly barging into a high-rise society and opening fire in the air to threaten security guards in Sector 45. The accused, Arun Kumar , a resident of Delhi, was accompanied by three accomplices in Amrapali Sapphire Society in Sector 45 at 2.20 am.A guard at the society said they were sitting in the guard room when they heard a gunshot outside the society gate. They came to the spot and found the four men robbing a food delivery boy. It appeared that the accused were drunk. When the guards questioned them, the four accused fled the spot.The accused later entered Amrapali Society from another gate by introducing themselves as relative of a person who lives in K- Tower.Sumit Pradhan, the security supervisor and complainant, said he sent a wireless message and asked the security guards to chase the suspects. "The security guards started searching for them near K-Tower. They were alerted to restrict the suspects' entry," he said. The four accused reached T-Tower, but were their entry was restricted. They then started arguing with the guards.At the same time, the security guards from different locations started gathering at the spot. Worried that they might get caught, the accused opened fire in the air and started fleeing the spot. The security guards chased them and managed to apprehend Arun who had an illegal weapon in his possession, while his three accomplices managed to escape.The security guards later informed police, who arrived at 2.51 am, about the incident and took the accused into custody. Ajay Kumar Singh , SHO of Sector 39 police station, said the police seized a country-made pistol from his possession. "We have registered a case of trespassing under Section 441 of the IPC and also arms act against the criminals," he said.Col Bhupinder Malhi, president of resident welfare committee, Amrapali Sapphire Phase 2, said the incident has instilled a sense of insecurity among residents. " Police check post nearby remains empty most of the time. The police should ensure the safety of residents," he said.The accused said that one of the absconding accomplices wanted to meet a relative in the society. However, he failed to have any more information about the person. Police have launched a search for identification and arrest of criminals.
