Transferred shares worth Rs 80L to his a/c, manager held

NOIDA: The manager of a share-trading company was arrested on Thursday for allegedly transferring shares worth Rs 80 lakh to his personal account. They found that Ranjan had transferred investors' share worth Rs 3 crore to his personal account. However, Ranjan made away with shares worth Rs 80 lakh by that time.The accused told police that his salary was meagre and hence he decided to cheat. Arvind Kumar Shrivastava, company director, asked Ranjan to transfer the shares but he did not do so. When asked, Ranjan gave a feeble response and stopped coming to office from the next day.The officials sensed foul play and checked records.

NOIDA: The manager of a share-trading company was arrested on Thursday for allegedly transferring shares worth Rs 80 lakh to his personal account. The accused, Bhanu Ranjan , a resident of Sector 62 in Faridabad , was a manager with Securities Limited in Sector 3, Noida.Vivek Ranjan Rai , inspector ,Centre for Cyber Crime Investigation (CCCI), Noida, said the accused had been working with the company for four years. The company management had filed a case against him in December 2016 with Sector 20 police station. Recently, the officials met SP City Arun Kumar Singh and requested him to solve the case. Following this, CCCI was asked to pursue the matter.Police said an investor made a payment and asked the company officials to transfer some shares to his account. Arvind Kumar Shrivastava, company director, asked Ranjan to transfer the shares but he did not do so. Three days later the investor again told the director about transfering the shares. When asked, Ranjan gave a feeble response and stopped coming to office from the next day.The officials sensed foul play and checked records. They found that Ranjan had transferred investors' share worth Rs 3 crore to his personal account. They intervened and stopped the transaction. However, Ranjan made away with shares worth Rs 80 lakh by that time.The accused told police that his salary was meagre and hence he decided to cheat. Police have recovered two mobile phones and Rs 1.25 lakh from his possession. "The accused was produced in court and sent to judicial custody," Rai said.
