8-member committee set up to purchase land for international airport at Jewar

To acquire this land, YEIDA will require about Rs 3,000 crores. GREATER NOIDA: On the directions of the Uttar Pradesh government, Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has set up an 8-member committee , which will take up the task of acquiring land for the sanctioned international airport at Jewar. "Since the airport is to be developed in three phases across 3000 hectares of land.In the first phase of the project about 1250 hectares of land will be required. This committee will do its homework to ensure that the earmarked land is free from any disputes and can be acquired immediately without any delays and as soon as we get a go-ahead from the state government," said Amarnath Upadhyay, Additional CEO (ACEO), YEIDA. The committee, which includes officials from the land and planning department will in a phase-wise manner purchase the land.Before the purchase of the land they will do their homework to earmark land which is contiguous, without any dispute and identify their exact khasra numbers besides identifying how much is government land and how much is private land.According to YEIDA officials, the eight members of the committee include an officer on special duty, two tehsildars, senior manager projects, senior manager planning, a revenue officer and two lekhpals.
