Bihar CM Nitish Kumar orders probe in illegal firecracker factory blast

PATNA: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on Friday ordered a high level probe in an explosion at an illegal firecracker factory in Nalanda district in which six people were killed and 20 injured. The incident took place late Thursday night. The man's sister and a neighbour were also killed in the explosion. “The CM has also ordered the administration to make necessary arrangements for proper treatment of all injured persons," the communique said.The explosion took place last night at a house in a crowded residential locality in Sohsarai township, from where a man allegedly ran the illegal firecracker unit. He used to live in the house as a tenant, Nalanda district magistrate (DM) Thyagarajan said.The blast claimed the lives of the tenant's two daughters -- one, a month old, and another aged three -- and his four-year-old son.

The incident took place late Thursday night."Divisional commissioner of Patna Anand Kishore and deputy inspector general of police (DIG), Patna central range, Rajesh Kumar have been asked to jointly probe the incident of explosion and take necessary actions against the persons responsible for the explosion based on the findings of the probe,” a communique from the state’s information and public relations department said.Expressing grief and sorrow over the incident, the CM said necessary action would be taken against the persons responsible for the explosion. “The CM has also ordered the administration to make necessary arrangements for proper treatment of all injured persons," the communique said.The explosion took place last night at a house in a crowded residential locality in Sohsarai township, from where a man allegedly ran the illegal firecracker unit.
