PATNA: Students, who flunked the Intermediate exams, the results of which were announced by the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) recently, continued their protest across the state for the fourth consecutive day on Sunday.Student organisations affiliated to the Left parties blocked roads in Patna, Araria, Supaul, Darbhanga, Samastipur, Begusarai, Katihar, Purnia, Fatuha, Barh and other places.Jan Adhikar Party (Loktantrik) supporters led by party’s president and MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav forcibly stopped a train at Rajendra Nagar Terminal to protest alleged discrepancies in Intermediate results. Pappu alleged a student topped the board exam in science stream even without attending classes, while many others who even qualified Joint Entrance Examination (Main) and National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), could not clear the Intermediate exams due to the anomalies in declaration of results.“Bihar board is playing with the future of the students,” Pappu said. While demanding re-evaluation of answer copies, Pappu said the state government should sack erring officials.Meanwhile, Chhatra RJD activists blocked the road and burned CM Nitish Kumar’s effigy at Income-Tax roundabout over the issue.Many students complained they qualified JEE-Main and NEET, but flunked the Intermediate exams due to irrational marking.
