CHHAPRA: Chief minister Nitish Kumar laid the foundation stone of the state’s first and country’s longest double-decker flyover at Chhapra in Saran district on Wednesday.
He also said Bihar had the maximum sale of motorbikes.Nitish said frequent traffic disruptions at Chhapra forced the government to think of constructing a double-decker flyover in the town.
The 1.8km-long double-decker flyover in Mumbai is the longest so far in the country.The CM also dedicated to the people the 64km-long state highway (SH-90) from national highway-101 at Mohammadpur in Gopalganj district to Bazar Samiti on NH-19 at Chhapra.
The government has set June 2022 deadline to complete the 3.5km-long flyover from Gandhi Chowk to Nagarpalika Chowk at the cost of Rs411 crore.
“Rather, the movement of vehicles as well as pedestrians below the flyover will be facilitated,” he said.
