PATNA: The state BJP has bedecked the main road here from the airport to Samrat Ashoka Convention Kendra near Gandhi Maidan with saffron colour to give a rousing welcome to party president Amit Shah, who will reach Patna on Thursday morning to rejuvenate the rank and file to ensure that Narendra Modi forms the government at the Centre ‘phir ek baar’ (once more).Soon after his arrival at 10am from Ranchi, Shah would share breakfast with CM Nitish Kumar at the state guesthouse before participating in two separate meetings of the party’s invitees. Shah’s visit is being considered very significant as it would be his first to the state after the debacle of the then NDA comprising BJP, LJP, RLSP and HAM-S in the 2015 state assembly elections.Moreover, it is expected that Nitish, who was part of the grand alliance in 2015 and quit it in July last year, would further cement his ties with the BJP in the presence of Shah after going public that he and his party would remain with the NDA. Shah and the BJP functionaries would also share dinner with CM Nitish at his official residence.During the day, Shah would address the party’s social media cell at Gyan Bhavan and the in charge of the Vistaraks at Bapu Sabhagar. Among those present at the sabhagar would also be the Union ministers from Bihar, former and present MPs and MLAs, as well as state office-bearers, district presidents, custodians of the parliamentary constituencies and the functionaries of the morchas.State BJP vice-president Devesh Kumar said barring the restricted area like near Raj Bhavan, the left flank of the road leading to the convention kendra would be lined up by the party workers with BJP flags as the show of warm and rousing welcome for Shah. The workers of all the morchas and the Patna Mahanagar unit have been assigned the task to organize this work, he added.Further, deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi and party’s state president Nityanand Rai inspected the preparations made at the convention kendra.Meanwhile, BJP national spokesman Shahnawaz Hussain said on Wednesday that when the tempo for the parliamentary elections has been set, Congress president Rahul Gandhi has started dividing the society again. Shahnawaz accused Rahul of dividing the intellectuals and graduates into Hindu and Muslim slots by convening a meet of the ‘Muslim intellectuals’.
