HC allows provisional admissions

PATNA: The Patna high court on Wednesday allowed Dr Zakir Hussain Teachers Training College and SM Zahir Alam Teachers Training College in Darbhanga district to take provisional admissions for BEd course in 2018-2020 session.The division bench of Chief Justice Rajendra Menon and Justice Rajeev Ranjan Prasad, while hearing an LPA filed by the two colleges, said all such students must be informed individually that their admissions would be subject to the final decision in the case.The court also said if the LPA gets dismissed, the students won’t be allowed to appeal and decision on their fees refund would be taken at the time of the judgement.Petitioners’ counsel Sarvadev Singh said the chancellor had allowed colleges to take their own admissions in March, but on April 30, he revoked his order and rolled out rules for conducting combined entrance test (CET) for admission in all BEd colleges across Bihar.
