PU exam building to come up at Golakpur

Now this vacant land will be utilized for the construction of an examination building and other academic complexes.The state government has already sanctioned a sum of nearly Rs six crore for the examination building which will be constructed by the Bihar State Educational Infrastructure Development Corporation. Different types of forms, prospectus, advertisements and tender notices will now be issued only in Hindi language, according to a PU notification issued on Saturday. Even the main PU office will use Hindi in its official transactions. The entire examination complex will be under CCTV surveillance, the VC said on Saturday.PU has also decided to introduce digital payment from August 1. Gradually, there will be complete automation of the entire office functioning.

PATNA: With a view to minimising loss of teaching hours in colleges and PG departments owing to university examinations, Patna university (PU) has decided to construct a multi-storey examination building with a capacity to seat 2,000 examinees.The building will be constructed on the land at Golakpur, which has recently been freed from the clutches of anti-social elements.According to PU vice-chancellor Rash Bihari Prasad Singh, all the encroachments from the PU land at Golakpur have been removed following the intervention of Patna high court and subsequent action taken by the district administration. Now this vacant land will be utilized for the construction of an examination building and other academic complexes.The state government has already sanctioned a sum of nearly Rs six crore for the examination building which will be constructed by the Bihar State Educational Infrastructure Development Corporation. The salaries of teachers and non-teaching staff will be credited to their bank accounts digitally, doing away with the age-old practice of submitting salary bills.The VC said PU has already taken a lead in ensuring online admissions to all its undergraduate and PG courses, including online payment of fees. Gradually, there will be complete automation of the entire office functioning. The university has already joined the national digital library for the benefit of its scholars, he said.Meanwhile, PU has directed the heads of all PG departments, principals of colleges and directors of institutes to transact their official business in Hindi only. Even the main PU office will use Hindi in its official transactions. Different types of forms, prospectus, advertisements and tender notices will now be issued only in Hindi language, according to a PU notification issued on Saturday.
