Priya Byahut, a third-year student, said, “This is my third year in college and I come here every day without fail. Be it for a quick gossip session or a long debate, these are the places where bonds are forged, misunderstandings resolve and many love stories bloom. While memories of lectures and exams fade over the years, the time spent with friends always remains etched in our minds. PT spoke to students from various college campuses to find out about their favourite hangout zones...Adda zone: Backyard of collegeThe backyard of this college looks like the set of some horror movie. But still, l it has always been the favourite haunt for students. Akash Alok, afinal-year student, said, “This place is very quiet. When it rains, the place gets filled with water. But my friends and I still like to sit and chat post classes. I don’t know what is with that place that attracts us so much. But it is a place I will always remember.”Adda zone: Prakash DhabaThe dhaba we knew a few months back has undergone a huge transformation and all credit goes to a handful of students from BIT, Patna. Priya Byahut, a third-year student, said, “This is my third year in college and I come here every day without fail. This dhaba is very close to our college and is a great place to hangout with friends. The ambience here is beautiful and this place is very close to my heart.”Adda zone: Gandhi GhatGandhi Ghat remains the most favourite haunt for NITians till date. Situated just behind the college, this ghat is always crowded with students who come here for a quick chat with friends. “Whenever we are free, we gather here. We have many fond memories attached to this place. This ghat has been witness to so many incidents — our fights and friendship. The sparkling water of the Ganges during sunset is a sight to behold,” said Brijendra Kumar, a second-year student.Adda zone: Bhasha BhawanThe favourite hangout spot for students of Patna College is Bhasha Bhawan. The old building has been a part of many students’ lives, who spent their time here. Abhishek Kumar, a third-year student, said, “The stairs of Bhasha Bhawan is our favourite hangout place, where my friends and I discuss notes post classes. We spend hours chatting or simply looking at the sky.”Adda zone: Near the stageThe place in front of the stage serves as an adda zone for students of this college. Sinni Shoshya, a second-year student of the college, said, “We have a lot of practical classes and we need breaks to refresh our minds. And this is where we come for a breather. Although this part of the college has been renovated, its charm remains the same.”Adda zone: Canteen“We have strict rules and regular classes. Bunking a class is never an option. So, whenever we get some spare time, we head straight to the canteen. We either sit and chat over tea and samosas or exchange notes. That’s our adda zone,” said Shreya Singh, a third-year student of the college.— Sweta Bharti
