Soon, more taxis from Patna airport

PATNA: The Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC) has initiated the bidding process for operation of luxury taxi services from the Jayaprakash Narayan International airport in Patna Sources said the taxis — airconditioned as well as non-ACs — would operate from 7am till the arrival of last flight. “We are already operating 20 taxis from the airport and we have initiated the bidding process to add 30 additional vehicles to the fleet,” he said, adding the new taxis would be equipped with modern facilities like GPS. They will be properly dressed and groomed and will wear the uniform prescribed by the BSTDC. Also, they will not use any intoxicating substance, including gutkha, pan and tobacco, during the duty hours.BSTDC’s travel and trade manager Brajesh Kishore said on Saturday said online booking facility would also be launched soon for hiring the taxis.

The fare will be fixed by the BSTDC which will also do the billing at the airport.The BSTDC will take 10% of the revenue as commission for daytime travel and 20% for night hours.
