PATNA: At least ten students of classes VI to VIII of the city’s St Xavier’s High School were suspended “for the time being” on Monday after a preliminary probe into the alleged thrashing of a Class VI student on the school campus on Friday.The victim’s mother also lodged an FIR in this regard in the Gandhi Maidan police station on Saturday.School principal Fr Christu Savarirajan said he had called the parents of the children involved in the fight to the school on Monday. “After hearing both sides, we suspended ten students for the time being,” he said and added the school’s Parents-Teachers Association would further investigate the matter and strict action would be taken against anyone found guilty.The victim’s mother in her complaint to police said her son was thrashed by senior students at knifepoint during lunch break in the school playground.“The senior students threatened his son not to approach the principal. When my son sought help from a teacher, he took him to the principal who called me to the school on Saturday. When I went to meet the principal, he was not there... The vice-principal advised me to patch up the dispute,” she said.Gandhi Maidan police station SHO Deepak Kumar said investigations were on. “A police team will record the statement of all concerned on Tuesday,” he said.
