RJD to back TDP no-trust motion against NDA government

Another team of TDP leaders met DMK Rajya Sabha member Kanimozhi in Chennai for support to the proposed no-confidence motion against the Modi government. The TDP had pulled out of the BJP-led NDA over its special category status demand for Andhra Pradesh. Bhola said the RJD would support the TDP’s no-confidence motion against the Modi government.Interestingly, Lalu is on bail on health grounds after his conviction in fodder scam cases. One of the conditions for Lalu’s bail is that he will not indulge in any political activity and interaction during this period.“We have sought RJD’s support for the proposed no-confidence motion against the NDA government. It has 16 Lok Sabha members whereas the RJD has four.RJD national general secretary and Lalu’s close aide Bhola Yadav said the TDP MPs also had a telephonic conversation with leader of opposition in Bihar assembly Tejashwi Prasad Yadav.

PATNA: The RJD on Tuesday assured Telugu Desam Party ( TDP ) led by Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu to support its no-confidence motion move against the Narendra Modi government in the monsoon session of Parliament.TDP MPs Galla Jayadev, Ravindra Kumar and Garikapati Mohan Rao met RJD chief Lalu Prasad at the residence of his wife and former Bihar CM Rabri Devi on Tuesday and handed over a letter from Naidu seeking support to the TDP in its fight against the Centre for justice to the state. The TDP had pulled out of the BJP-led NDA over its special category status demand for Andhra Pradesh. Unity of all opposition parties is necessary for throwing this government out of power,” TDP MP Rao told reporters outside Rabri’s residence.The TDP MPs also supported CM Nitish Kumar’s demand for special category status to Bihar.Sources said the TDP was approaching different opposition parties across the country to garner support for the no-confidence motion it intends to bring against the NDA government during the coming monsoon session for allegedly not fulfilling the promises made to Andhra Pradesh, including the special category status and those envisaged during its bifurcation and creating the state of Telangana.Sources said the TDP MPs had also met Karnataka CM H D Kumaraswamy in Bengaluru on Monday and handed over a letter from Naidu in this regard.
