PATNA: One Sanjeet Singh allegedly shot at his 20-year-old girlfriend and her mother in their rented accommodation at Daudbigha under the Agamkuan police station area in Patna on early Friday morning. Both are undergoing treatment at a private nursing home. Sanjeet is absconding.Patna SSP Manu Maharaaj said Sanjeet is a resident of Kurji Balupar under the Digha police station area. He said Sanjeet, in his early 20s, was pressurising the girl and her family for marriage. “He had come alone and escaped while leaving his bike there. Four empty cartridges were found from the spot,” the SSP said, adding Sanjeet opened fire after an altercation with the girl and her mother over reaching their house at odd hours. The SSP said Sanjeet’s movements were captured in the CCTV footage.Quoting the girl’s statement, Agamkuan SHO Ashok Kumar Pandey said she had an affair with Sanjeet for the last six months. “Sanjeet was pressurising the girl and her family to marry him as soon as possible while talks were going on for her elder sister’s marriage,” he said. Pandey said preliminary investigations also indicated that the girl had started talking to someone else, which perhaps annoyed Sanjeet. “The incident may be a case of love triangle. Further investigation is on,” he said.
