No jogging in Gandhi Maidan from August 13 to 15

Traffic police department was asked to prepare a plan to regulate the traffic flow on August 14 and 15 and make arrangements for adequate parking spaces for vehicles near Gandhi Maidan. PATNA: Patna divisional commissioner Anand Kishor on Saturday held a meeting with officials of different departments to review the preparations for Independence Day celebrations on August 15.Kishor directed the building construction department to prepare the track for I-Day parade by July 29 and barricade Gandhi Maidan by August 10.He told the officials that Gandhi Maidan won’t be booked for any private event from August 1 till the I-Day celebrations were over. Each counter will have a team of doctors, ambulances and stretchers.Public health and engineering department officials were asked to bring seven water tanks and five water ATMs for the day.“The ground will be cleaned by the Patna Municipal Corporation in two phases — on August 1 and August 13. Stray animals will be kept away from the ground,” Kishor said and added the parade rehearsal would begin from August 1 and the last rehearsal would be held on August 13.He also directed the officials concerned to do underground wiring for loudspeakers and lights keeping in view the rains. After August 10, the ground will be open only for joggers who too will not be allowed to enter the ground from August 13.“Only the officials and participants will be allowed in on production of the gate pass issued to them,” he said, adding the work for beautification of the ground for the I-Day celebrations would be completed by August 12.Kishor directed the civil surgeon to provide four primary health counters at Gandhi Maidan on the day.
