GAYA: The two-day BJP state executive committee meeting ended in Bodh Gaya on Wednesday with the party taking pledge to leave no stone unturned to ensure the victory of NDA candidates in all the 40 Lok Sabha constituencies in Bihar.Addressing newspersons after the meet, BJP’s national general secretary and in charge of Bihar affairs Bhupender Yadav said the welfare measures taken by the Narendra Modi government have positively affected 22 crore families and that would see the party through in the 2019 parliamentary election. Bhupender, however, parried a direct answer to a question on the issue of job reservation for the upper castes. “It is connected with the larger issue of socio-economic justice,” he said.Asked about the seat-sharing formula among the NDA partners, the BJP leader said there was perfect understanding among all the allies about distribution of seats. “Everything will be decided at the appropriate time,” he said.Meanwhile, Union agriculture minister Radha Mohan Singh, Union energy minster of state R K Singh and former Union minister and Chhapra MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy were conspicuous by their absence as the hoardings put up by the party at prominent places in the town and at the meeting venue had mentioned the participation of all Union ministers and party MPs. Union ministers Ravi Shankar Prasad, Ashwini Kumar Choubey and Giriraj Singh participated in the meet.Asked about the absence of Radha Mohan, RK Singh and Rudy, executive committee member and former Gaya district BJP chief Anil Swami said may be they had other preoccupations.Controversy over parking of vehicles: The BJP meet courted controversy over violation of ban on vehicles beyond node 1 on the western outskirts of the temple town. But several delegates visited the restricted zone with vehicles though the entrants have either to walk or engage e-rickshaws there.Criticizing the entry and parking of the vehicles of the participants in the no-entry zone, Bodh Gaya Nagrik Vikas Manch president Suresh Singh said the ban was only imposed to harass the locals and general visitors. “It was unfortunate that people connected with the government were violating the ban. Not only BJP is a partner in Bihar govt, but several other participants held ministerial positions in the government,” said Singh.Asked whether exemption was granted to the participants for entry of their vehicles in the restricted area, Gaya DM Abhishek Singh said he was in Delhi and SSP Rajiv Mishra was the right person to give the official version. The SSP, however, did not respond to the calls made to his official mobile number.
