15 women entrepreneurs get certificates

US ambassador Kenneth Juster had met with leading women entrepreneurs during his Patna visit. PATNA: Fifteen women entrepreneurs from Bihar received certificates on the concluding day of the five-day workshop on ‘Business English for women entrepreneurs’, organized here by the US consulate-general, Kolkata, in partnership with the Bihar Entrepreneurs Association (BEA).Women entrepreneurs from Bihar who received certificates included Himani Mishra, Komal Raj, Priya Gupta, Priyanka Singh, Khushboo Jha, Rupali, Anju Gupta, Supriya Lakshmi, Rambha Jha, Varsha Kumari, Deepmeera, Akansha Ranjan, Abhishree Bharti, Preeti Varshney and Sweta Kumari.These entrepreneurs from different districts of Bihar received training in two phases from American English language specialist Dieter Bruhn. In the first phase, participants learned about effective presentation skills and business etiquette. We choose to offer our English resources to youth and women in particular to promote the entrepreneurial and innovative spirit of our societies,” he said.Dragon added, “The US Consulate General in Kolkata has worked closely with BEA in promoting the spirit of entrepreneurship among women and youth.”Earlier this year, an ‘All-India Roadshow on Women’s Economic Empowerment’ was organised in Patna. They got to know about speech registers, how to create an engaging presentation and how to pitch a winning business idea.The final business pitches were showcased by women entrepreneurs in front of the public affairs officer of the US consulate-general in Kolkata, Jamie Dragon, and other dignitaries from BEA on Friday.Addressing the concluding ceremony here on Friday, Dragon talked about the importance of English language and presentation or project for the growth and development of entrepreneurs.“English language programming is a key area for our work because good English can have a huge impact on an individual’s ability to earn a better livelihood.
