PATNA: The state BJP on Sunday said the entry of poll strategist Prashant Kishor (PK) into JD(U) would strengthen the NDA, but also maintained that PM Narendra Modi and the party’s national president Amit Shah would provide the main pull and gravitas to attract people during the 2019 parliamentary elections in the state.“His ability will be used to win all the 40 parliamentary seats,” former state BJP president and road construction department minister Nand Kishore Yadav said. “Today, the scene has become stronger for us, the NDA. Narendra Modi has led the government at the Centre for over five years by now and the NDA has achievements to its credit. In 2019, we have his charismatic personality and also the seasoned poll strategist in the person of our party president Amit Shah,” he said. But the RJD did not see any big change coming about in the state politics and also in the overall situation facing the JD(U), despite the induction of Kishor into it. “Kishor would not be able to salvage the JD(U) that finds itself in deep sea today,” RJD state spokesman Chitranjan Gagan said.Kishor had emerged as a successful poll strategist after having worked for the then CM Narendra Modi in Gujarat during 2011-13 and helped deliver the success to him during the 2014 parliamentary elections. While working for CM Nitish in 2015 Bihar assembly elections, Kishor had brought out the theme song ‘Bihar mein bahar hai, Nitishe Kumar hai”.When pointed out about the Gagan’s observation about Kishor as people of the state were indisposed towards CM Nitish Kumar and his JD(U), Nand Kishore said, “Strategy is planned to take achievements of the government to people and do right communication with them.”The senior BJP leader also said during the 2014 parliamentary elections, the BJP — for that matter the NDA — “had Narendra Modi’s personality and labour of the BJP workers that gave victory to the NDA.”He also said the public mood in the country was still with PM Modi, as various surveys of the popular pulse of people had shown it and, by implication, it would also help CM Nitish Kumar and the JD(U) as the NDA partner. “All the surveys conducted so far show that more than 40% of people still like to see Narendra Modi as the country’s PM,” Yadav said.
