PU girls outshine boys in 24 of 41 honours courses

There are five subject toppers each from Magadh Mahila College, another NAAC-accreditated A grade college, and Patna Science College. PATNA: The girl students of Patna University (PU) have once again outsmarted the boys by securing top positions in as many as 24 out of 41 honours courses in the undergraduate examinations of 2018, according to a provisional list of toppers announced by PU recently. The college with potential for excellence having A Grade from NAAC has already been declared an autonomous institution by the UGC. All these toppers will be awarded gold medals at the university’s 102nd foundation day function to be held at Wheeler Senate Hall on October 1.Interestingly, the maximum number of toppers (14) are from Patna Women’s College alone. Surprisingly, three toppers are from the Directorate of Distance Education (DDE), which has been facing a rough weather for the last couple of years owing to derecognition of its courses by the Distance Education Bureau (DEB).Union minister of state for external affairs M J Akbar is likely to deliver the Foundation Day lecture.
