60 NIT students take part in blood donation camp

PATNA: More than 60 students of National Institute of Technology- Patna donated their blood at a blood donation camp organised by the NSS wing of the institute and Red Ribbon Club on Thursday. In solo singing category, the second prize was bagged by St Xavier’s High School (SXHS) and third prize by St Joseph’s Convent High School. The programme was coordinated by head of geography department Debjani Sarkar Ghosh and teacher Amrita Chowdhury.Carmel High School: Students of Carmel High School (CHS) emerged as the winners of a group and solo singing contest at an interschool singing competition organised by the CHS on its campus. The programme was organised as part of platinum jubilee celebration of the school. Litera Valley students Meghmalhar Bhowmick, Prayan Parasar, Mayank Kumar, Anisha, Shubhangi Sinha, Shriyans Kumar, Ishita Roy, Shashwat Suman, Shambhavi and Kriti Singh have qualified for the national rounds in various categories.School director Amit Prakash and principal Sharat Kumar Singh congratulated the winners and said hard work of the students and teachers had paid off.

NIT-P director P K Jain said the camp was aimed at creating awareness among students regarding the importance of blood donation.Experts from Jai Prabha Blood Bank conducted the daylong camp.PWC quiz contest: More than 200 students of various departments participated in a quiz competition organised by Patna Women’s College to mark the World Tourism Day on Thursday.The quiz questions were based on culture, history, religion, art, cuisines and literature.Students also performed dance and songs.
