Patna: Rashtriya Lok Samata Party ( RLSP ) MLA Sudhanshu Shekhar met JD(U) national vice-president Prashant Kishor on Sunday amid speculation of further split in the party led by Union minister Upendra Kushwaha , who is at loggerheads with CM Nitish Kumar.The meeting assumed more significance because it was held at CM Nitish’s 7, Circular Road residence amid talks of cabinet expansion in the state. Nitish can induct 8 more ministers into his cabinet.JD(U) insiders said Sudhanshu wanted to switch sides if he was offered a berth in the state cabinet. Sudhanshu could not be contacted, but Kushwaha tweeted: “Nitish Kumar Ji, you have an expertise in engineering ‘Tor-Jor’. After BSP, LJP, RJD and Congress, it is now the turn of the RLSP — But the public of Bihar and this country are watching every action. We will continue to struggle for the rights of poor, disadvantaged, dalit, backwards and poor among upper caste, despite your attacks.”Kushwaha further attacked Nitish in another tweet: “Exchanging dowry items only is not crime, but giving inducement with intention to damage a party is also an immoral act. Nitish ji please hold your people.”RLSP had three Lok Sabha members and two MLAs in Bihar. His party MP Arun Kumar and MLA Lalan Paswan formed separate groups last year after differences with Kushwaha. While Arun floated Rashtriya Samata Party (Secular), Paswan is hobnobbing with NDA leaders to join either BJP or JD(U).Sudhanshu, an MLA from Harlakhi in Madhubani district, met Kishor at 7, Circular Road bungalow for 45 minutes. He was still there when Nitish returned from Rajgir. However, it could not be known whether Sudhanshu had a meeting with Nitish or not.Earlier in the day, Kushwaha visited Union minister and LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan’s residence in Patna and discussed seat-sharing and other political issues. Both agreed to demand from the BJP that seat-sharing talks with all the NDA partners should be held at the earliest.Before leaving for Delhi, Kushwaha told reporters at Patna airport that he would apprise BJP chief Amit Shah of the “humiliation” he had suffered at the hands of Nitish. Kushwaha said he would also request Shah to clear the “confusion” over seat-sharing among the NDA partners in the state at the earliest.
