PATNA: Police officials seems to be in no mood of sparing dismissed trainees involved in the ‘revolt’ against seniors as after ten days, Patna zonal IG Nayyar Hasnain Khan formed an special investigation team (SIT) on Monday to investigate and take action against all those involved covertly or overtly in the police lines rampage of November 2.IG has made Patna SSP Manu Maharaaj as the head of the eight membered investigating team and has directed the DIG (central range) Rajesh Kumar to periodically monitor SIT’s investigation and submit him progress report.Altogether 175 constables including 167 trainees were dismissed from service within two days of the rampage on basis of evidences against them. Later, state police headquarters threw out 20 police officer and 72 personnel squatting at the police lines for more than a decade, out of Patna zone on the recommendation of Khan after the rampage.The SIT would be investigating altogether four cases lodged with the Buddha Colony police station in connection with the rampage in which several of the dismissed trainees are named accused. While two were lodged by police itself, one was lodged by on basis of the statement recorded by the injured DSP and another was lodged by a passer-by Sunil Kumar whose vehicle was damaged in the rampage.Khan, while talking to TOI over phone on Monday said that SIT would gather evidences against all those booked in the four FIRs to take legal action against them on basis of evidences.“The SIT would also take action into all those who had acted and conspired from behind the curtains by provoking the trainees for rampage,” Khan said adding further action against any police personnel or officer would be taken on basis of SIT’s investigation.He said that the SIT was formed for proper investigation of the rampage and no time frame have been set for completion of investigation.More than 100 of constables had virtually revolved against their senior police officers after one of their colleague Savita Kumari Pathak (22) died allegedly of high fever at a private hospital at Boring Canal Road on wee hours of November 2.Hours after, they all went on rampage and attempted to lynch police lines DSP Mohammad Mashluddin for allegedly denying leave to Pathak. They also targeted several other senior officers inside the lines. The trainees had manhandled Mashluddin’s wife and daughter and had ransacked his officer and residence.The SIT constitutes of City SP (central) D Amarkesh, ASP (sadar) Sushant Kumar Saroj, DSP (law and order) Rakesh Kumar, Buddha Colony police station SHO Manoj Mohan and his two subordinates Ranjeet Kumar and Manish Kumar and Kotwali police station SHO Rama Shankar.
