Hyderabad traderrsquos body found in PMCH

PATNA: The body of Hyderabad-based contractor Ashok Sah was found in the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) morgue on Tuesday. On November 7, Sah’s family reached Patna and lodged a case of kidnapping with the Jakkanpur police station. Patna SSP Manu Maharaaj said Sah fell prey to a criminal gang involved in looting passengers near railway stations and bus stands after drugging them. He then reached Mithapur bus stop and informed his wife that he was about to leave for Muzaffarpur. The plaza employees spotted Sah on November 7 and sent him to Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH) for treatment.

PATNA: The body of Hyderabad-based contractor Ashok Sah was found in the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) morgue on Tuesday. He had gone missing from the Mithapur bus stand on November 6 while on way to his native place in Muzaffarpur district Sah, in his late 40s, supplied labour to various firms in Hyderabad. Patna SSP Manu Maharaaj said Sah fell prey to a criminal gang involved in looting passengers near railway stations and bus stands after drugging them. He said the ‘nasha khurani’ gang members drug passengers after offering to drop them at their desired locations or destinations.Sah’s body was recovered following the arrest of one Sujeet Kumar (28) from Samastipur on Tuesday. He had withdrawn Rs2 lakh from an ATM and purchased jewellery worth Rs1.5 lakh from a shop at Biharsharif in Nalanda district by using Sah’s debit card.The SSP said Sujeet and his three associates lured Sah at Danapur in the name of dropping him at Mithapur bus stop. They offered him a spiked packaged fruit juice. “The gang has a four-wheeler which its members use as taxi. Sujeet posed as the taxi driver and told Sah that the other three were passengers. They asked Sah’s debit card PIN when he came under the influence of drug. They withdrew Rs2 lakh from an ATM and purchased jewellery worth Rs1.5 lakh from Gowardhan Lal Rastogi jewellery shop at Biharsharif in Nalanda,” the SSP said, adding it was after these transactions that Sah’s family contacted police. He said He said Sujeet’s associates fled to Nepal.“Sujeet and his three associates had dumped Sah in an unconscious state on the roadside around one kilometre from Didarganj toll plaza. The plaza employees spotted Sah on November 7 and sent him to Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH) for treatment. From there, the doctors referred him to PMCH where he died on November 11,” the SSP said.“Had police been informed by the toll plaza employees or the hospitals, Sah might have been saved,” he said and added that Sujeet was nabbed on the basis of the CCTV footage of the jewellery shop. Only when he confessed to his crime that the police traced Sah, but he had died before because of the effects of drugs and a minor injury in his head.The SSP said Sah had reached Danapur railway station from Hyderabad on November 6. He then reached Mithapur bus stop and informed his wife that he was about to leave for Muzaffarpur. After that his cellphone was switched off. On November 7, Sah’s family reached Patna and lodged a case of kidnapping with the Jakkanpur police station.
