PATNA: In a shocking incident, a man killed her minor daughter after slamming her on the floor after a tiff with his wife at Garaiya Fakirtoli here under Amaur police station area in Purnia on Wednesday. Amaur police station SHO Pankaj Kumar said that the accused Shobhalal Sharma (45) was arrested from the village after the incident.“The deceased, Shalu Kumari (04), was playing inside the house when suddenly Sharma, her father, caught her from neck and slammed her on the floor,” the SHO said.He said that the whole incident took place before the eyes of the girl’s mother Rajkumari Devi (40) who could barely act to save her daughter.“Sharma had a heated argument with his wife at around 1pm over food. Sharma yelled at her that why she had not cooked lunch yet, to which his wife replied that she was going to cook soon,” the SHO said.Soon after yelling, he caught his daughter and slammed her on the floor resulting into her death within next few minutes, the SHO added.“The mother with help of a few other villagers rushed the minor to a nearby primary health centre (PHC) but she was declared brought dead,” SHO Kumar said, adding, later police was informed.He said that Sharma did not even try to flee from the spot and was later arrested. Kumar said that Sharma had reached the village from Surat on November 11 and was set to return next week.“The woman was earlier married to Sharma’s elder brother but after husband’s death, she married the accused almost seven years back and they had the daughter,” SHO said, adding, Sharma worked in a factory at Surat while his wife stayed at house in the village.“There was no one other than the couple and their daughter at home when the incident occurred. Till now, the only thing which had surfaced is that the killing took place in a fit of rage,” he said.He further said an investigation was on and accused was sent to jail on Thursday.
