He again used foul language and asked him to pay Rs 25 lakh.

MUZAFFARPUR: Former state transport minister and senior leader of HAM(S) Ajit Kumar on Friday filed a written complaint with the Muzaffarpur Sadar police station alleging that he had received a call on his cellphone and asked to pay an extortion of Rs 25lakh.The HAM-S leader, who is also a former MLA from Kanti assembly segment of the district, first made a verbal complaint to SSP Manoj Kumar and later filed a written complaint with the Sadar police station soon after getting calls on his cellphone on Friday evening.Muzaffarpur SSP said the former minister has handed over a written complaint to the sadar police station on Friday alleging that he had received two calls on his cellphone. “The former MLA’s wife had received the first call. The caller used abusive language. The caller from a cell phone number 8864077160 again made a call on his cell phone number 9431240984. He again used foul language and asked him to pay Rs 25 lakh. He had even threatened to eliminate the entire family if the money was not paid within 24 hours,” said the SSP.Police have initiated a probe in the matter. Meanwhile, the security of the former minister has been beefed up following the complaint lodged with the police station.The SSP added that he has directed the deputy superintendent of police (DSP) to inquire into the incident. “We are trying to procure the call details. We are also trying to identify the caller through the number,” he said.The former minister said he had just returned to his residence at Bibiganj under Sadar police station after settling a dispute between two different groups at Paharpur. “I am yet to settle down in the chair, when my phone rang.
