PATNA: Rashtriya Lok Samata Party ( RLSP ) chief Upendra Kushwaha , who had recently resigned from the Union council of ministers and severed ties with the NDA, will address a meeting of the party’s office-bearers and workers at Shri Krishna Memorial Hall here on December 16.“A misinformation is being spread that Kushwaha’s hold over the RLSP has diminished. On December 16, it will be clear to everyone that all party members are with him,” state RLSP chief general secretary Satyanand Prasad Dangi said.“Kushwaha, who is currently in Delhi, will reach the state capital on December 16. He will be given a rousing welcome at the Patna airport from where he will leave for the meeting venue,” Dangi added.Asked if “rebel” party legislators – MLAs Lalan Paswan and Sudhanshu Shekhar and MLC Sanjeev Shyam Singh – will also attend the meeting, Dangi said, “No one has been debarred from the meeting. It is up to the legislators to decide whether to attend the meeting or not.” The three legislators had earlier questioned Kushwaha’s decision to quit the NDA.However, party sources said the RLSP legislators have gone for soul searching. According to them, Shekhar sent his emissaries to the state leadership to explain that he had “erred in deciding to go with CM Nitish Kumar”, as there were “technical reasons” due to which they would not be able to change party loyalties or even join the Nitish government.Party sources added that the RLSP MP from Sitamarhi Ram Kumar Sharma was also critical of Kushwaha’s decision, but he was on his side in Delhi when he announced his decision to quit the NDA.
