Bomb threat: Security beefed up at Sitamarhi stn

"The security of the entire railway station has been beefed up after we received the threat letter to blow up the railway station. SITAMARHI: Security at Sitamarhi railway station has been beefed up following an anonymous letter threatening to blow up the premises was found on Friday morning, police said. Police, Sashashtra Seema Bal, GRP and RPF have launched search operation in and around the railway station," Sitamarhi additional superintendent of police Vijay Shankar Singh said. Train services on the Sitamarhi-Darbhanga rail section has been stopped after the letter was found by Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel at around 10 am. Sitamarhi district magistrate Ranjit Kumar Singh, however, said the threat letter could have been written by a mentally unsound person as it said the sender had written to the Prime Minister 152 times for resolution of grievance but did not receive any reply from him and hence, the decision to blow up the railway station.The letter, however, did not mention the nature of the grievance and why it could not be resolved, Singh said.The DM urged the people not to panic and said a thorough probe will be ordered into the incident.Train services at Sitamarhi railway station resumed around 2.40 pm after a disruption of around 4.45 hours, East Central Railway (ECR) Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) Rajesh Kumar said.He added that train services were stopped as a precautionary measure.
