PATNA: One Kundan Yadav (19) was killed by his step-cousin and uncles over a land dispute at Jaynandpur under the Fatuha police station area in Patna district on Monday morning. The murder triggered strong protests from the local people, who blocked the road for several hours.Police sources said Kundan was going to the fields around 7.30am to answer the nature’s call. “He was stopped by his step-cousin, uncles and some unidentified persons. Kundan had a tiff with his cousin and uncles over the property dispute. After heated arguments, Kundan’s step-cousin Sakhi Yadav shot him in his head and escaped with others,” Fatuha SDPO Manish Kumar said.Kumar told this newspaper that Kundan died on the spot and his body was handed over to his family after postmortem at Nalanda Medical College and Hospital , Patna.Kundan’s father Nandlal Yadav lodged an FIR with Fatuha police against Rudal Yadav and Vijay Yadav , sons of Ayodhya Singh, and Sakhi Yadav, son of Rudal. Police detained two people for allegedly hatching the murder conspiracy. “All the named accused are absconding,” he said. “Nandlal alleged that his stepbrothers had a dispute over the distribution of family property. Nandlal’s father married twice and distributed the property between the two families. However, Rudal and Vijay wanted equal share with Nandlal in the family property. According to Nandlal, the matter was earlier resolved in the local panchayat,” the SDPO said. TNN
