Tejashwi warns people against ‘false promises’

PATNA: Leader of opposition in state assembly Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Thursday lashed out at chief minister Nitish Kumar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the issue of special package and special status for Bihar The younger Yadav scion was answering to series of questions posed by people at his ‘chaupal on Twitter’.In the one-and-a-half-hour long question and answer session, Tejashwi cautioned people against people “who would once again make false promises in the upcoming general election”.“Modi ji makes tall promises and speaks lie with such confidence that other people cannot even speak truth. Where are the two crore jobs? Where is Rs 15 lakh in every person’s account? Where is special package of Rs 1.25 lakh crore promised to Bihar? He also raised the issue of murder of a teenage girl in Gaya, saying his party had formed a committee to find the truth.Tejashwi said if elected to power, RJD’s focus would be on law and order. “Women will be given protection and the party will try to increase the income of farmers. Employment generation through establishment of industrial units is the need of the hour,” Tejashwi said, adding if his party came to power in the state, Bihar hostels would be opened in all such cities where students from state go for higher education.On 10% quota for upper castes, Tejashwi said the move would only benefit the rich. “Anyone earning Rs 8 lakh per annum or having five acres of land is not a poor. This bill is to woo young voters from upper caste community. The Centre should bring the caste census on public platform and give reservation on the basis of population. We are with poor, but a person earning Rs 65,000 per month is not a poor and if government considers such person as poor, why are they being taxed?” Tejashwi asked. He said the RJD had several forward caste leaders.
