PATNA: Two youths were arrested from Samastipur and Katihar on Sunday for their objectionable posts on social media over deadly suicide car bombing attack on a CRPF convoy resulting into the death of 40 personnel that took place at Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir on February 14. Sedition charges were also slapped against the Samastipur youth.The Samastipur youth was identified as Mohammad Imran (19) who was arrested from his native village Rahimabad under Bangra police station area in the district. The other youth was identified as Mohammad Tausif Alam (21) and was arrested from his residence at village Tinpatia police station area in the Katihar district.Altogether three youths were arrested in Bihar since the Pulwama attack took place. Earlier on Friday, Mazhar Hashmi (20) was arrested under sedition charges from Bhanpur Siripur village under Phulwaria police station area in Gopalganj for showing disrespect to CRPF martyrs and country over a Facebook post.Samastipur SP Harpreet Kaur said that Imran, who was preparing for entrance examination of IIT, had made two objectionable tweets from his personal account justifying the attack.“Someone sent me the screenshots of tweets after which the youth was traced using intelligence unit of district police and was arrested. His father is a government servant. During quizzing, Imran said he had tweeted for likes and also made another tweet later seeking apology,” she said, adding his cellphone was also seized.Meanwhile, Katihar SP Vikash Kumar said Alam was a Part-I student of History in a college at Katihar town.“He had made two objectionable posts on Facebook which were clearly against the country’s government and disrespect to Pulwama martyrs ,” he said, adding Alam had later deactivated his Facebook profile. He said Alam’s cellphone was yet to be recovered by police.
