Lok Sabha Election 2019: Why Begusarai seat has been most discussed in this election?

Former Jawaharlal Nehru University Students` Union president  Kanhaiya Kumar is fighting here on the ticket of Communist Party of India for the first time.  In the previous election in 2014, the CPI placed third in Begusarai, after the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance and Lalu Yadav`s RJD.

Begusarai seat has often found space in the headlines and has become the hot seat in 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Former Jawaharlal Nehru University Students` Union president  Kanhaiya Kumar is fighting here on the ticket of Communist Party of India for the first time.

BJP has fielded Union Minister Giriraj Singh against Kanhaiya Kumar and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has decided to go with Tanveer Hassan.

Why the seat is in limelight?

Kanhaiya Kumar who is making his debut in the national politics has managed to get the support of Bollywood stars. Renowned professionals who have never been around the political space have jumped in the field and have actively campaigned for Kanhaiya Kumar.

 Writer and lyricist Javed Akhtar; actors Shabana Azmi, Swara Bhaskar and Prakash Raj; and director Imtiaz Ali have actively campaigned for Kanhaiya Kumar.

On Thursday (April 25), at a public gathering at a Barauni school, Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi campaigned for Kanhaiya Kumar and slammed the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP.

Javed Akhtar accused the BJP of "instigating communal tensions to win elections".

 

Veteran actor Prakash Raj has also campaigned for Kanhaiya Kumar and slammed BJP for its communal politics.

It is not just celebrities, but men and women from all fields and religions have joined Kanhaiya Kumar in his political battle.

 

One could get an idea of his popularity by the fact that he raised at least Rs 70 lakh through crowdfunding for the Lok Sabha elections.

The results for all the seats will be announced on May 23, and once again all eyes will eagerly wait for this constituency. Can Kanhaiya Kumar raise Communist Party`s flag in Begusarai?
