For a long time, people have been dreaming of easy traffic between Patna and the adjoining Hajipur, the capital of Bihar. Even though there is a difference of just 10 km by road, people take hours.

Due to frequent jams on Mahatma Gandhi Setu, people are facing huge problems. At the same time, it is difficult to say when JP, located on the Ganges river between Sonpur-Patna, will also get jammed.

As an alternative, on the initiative of the government, people are being constructed for the past several years, but people are getting its benefits only for six months. The restoration work of Gandhi Setu is going on. The work of building a bridge parallel to Gandhi Setu has also started.

The work of construction of six lane bridge between Patna to Kachchi Dargah is also going on. It will take time to complete the works. In such a situation, if the train service is restored from Hajipur to Patna Sahib like the metropolitan cities, then lakhs of people of Hajipur and Patna will not only benefit but railways will also get income.

If the state government makes efforts in this direction by meeting with the railways, then people will not only get the means of easy transport but will also get permanent freedom from the jam.

JP Setu is now the only option for people traveling from Hajipur to Patna. However, apart from Chhapra, Siwan and Gopalganj, vehicles coming from Uttar Pradesh come and go through JP Setu. But people coming from other districts apart from Muzaffarpur, Motihari, West Champaran, Samastipur, Begusarai, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Darbhanga, Madhubani of North Bihar often use Mahatma Gandhi Setu.

The railway train is running between Hajipur-Patna, but this service is not becoming an option for smooth traffic due to various reasons. The first reason is that the trains do not run on time. The timing of the trains is correct in the morning and evening, but there is no train during the day. As long as this service does not take the form of service, people will not be attracted towards it.

At the same time, many trains are till Patliputra station only. Only few trains go till Patna Junction. It should be possible that like Ksharg service, service should be restored from Hajipur to Patna Junction, Patna Sahib via Rajendra Nagar. -

This is because a large population moves from Kankarbagh, Rajendranagar and Patna Sahib. In such a situation, the distance from JP Setu increases significantly. Because of this people do not like to travel.

Here most of the trains running between Patna to Hajipur are closed for the last one and a half year due to the infection of Corona. Due to this people are facing huge problems. However, in the meantime, the good thing is that the work of doubling the railway line between Patna and Hajipur has almost been completed. At the same time, rail traffic service is also being normalized at the level of railways. In such a situation, if the Railways takes concrete initiatives in the coming days, it can provide smooth traffic between Hajipur to Patna.
