Ganga and Punpun crossed the danger mark in Patna, water has started entering the villages, flood threat on city too, know all details here

The Ganga was flowing 34 cm above the danger mark at Gandhi Ghat in Patna and 29 cm at Hathidah. The water level of Punpun river rose by about 156 cms above the danger mark at Punpun Ghat and 193 cms at Sripalpur in the last 24 hours.

The threat of floods has started looming over Patna and the surrounding area, the capital of Bihar. Ganga and Punpun rivers are flowing above the danger mark in Patna. The water level of the Ganges in Patna crossed the danger mark on Tuesday itself.

The Ganga was flowing 34 cm above the danger mark at Gandhi Ghat in Patna and 29 cm at Hathidah. The water level of Punpun river rose by about 156 cms above the danger mark at Punpun Ghat and 193 cms at Sripalpur in the last 24 hours.

After this, the administration has started stocking sandbags for the security of Patna, while the security of dams has been increased in Masaudhi and Dhanrua.

Water is flowing over the dam at many places in the areas of Masaudhi, Punpun and Dhanrua. The team of District Administration and Water Resources Department has started repairing the dams.

Community kitchen service has been started for the flood affected people. According to the Central Water Commission, the water level of Sone in Patna district is stable, while the water level of Ganga, Punpun, Falgu and Dardha continues to rise.

The flood waters are spreading in the Tal and Diara areas of Masaudhi, Dhanrua, Sampatchak, Fatuha, Khusrupur and Bakhtiyarpur in Patna district.

The district administration has directed government boats for rescue and relief in the flood prone area, repairing dams and taking flood victims to a safe place. In the relief camp, arrangements have been made for polythene for both evening food and rain.
