Recently, the water level of the Ganges increased by 20 cm at Digha Ghat and by about 40 cm at Gandhi Ghat. In view of the ever-increasing water level of Ganga, the district administration has given an alert.

Instructions have been issued to the police force to continuously monitor the dam and security walls. It has been said to continuously monitor the water level of Ganga even at night. Arrangements for sand have been made to prevent erosion of dams.

The pressure in the low-lying areas is increasing due to the rise in water level in Lokaine and Mahatine rivers.

There has also been a crack in the Zamindari dam of Daniyawan, due to which the local people are in awe. If there is damage to the Zamindari dam, there can be huge destruction in many areas.

The local people expressed their displeasure and said that the information was given to the Water Resources Department two days ago, but till now concrete work has not been done.
