City gas distribution network is being considered in five new cities of Bihar. The central government has placed Darbhanga, Madhubani, Supaul, Gopalganj and Siwan in the list where gas is being considered for providing gas through pipelines. Bidding for this will be done soon.

After Patna, LPG will be supplied through pipeline in 5 more cities of Bihar. This information was given by the Central Government in the Parliament. It was informed that the work of supply of LPG through pipeline is going on in Patna. Five new cities have also been included in the gas pipeline plan. These include Darbhanga, Madhubani, Supaul, Gopalganj and Siwan.

Sushil Modi had asked the question that the central government had set a target of providing gas through pipeline to 50,000 households in Patna in five years. This work is being done very slowly and only 1, 977 houses have been supplied gas through pipeline.

How much money has the central government provided for this and by when will 50 thousand houses start getting gas from the pipeline? Modi had also asked whether the central government was considering to provide pipeline gas in other districts of Bihar as well.

Union Minister of State for Petroleum Rameshwar Teli gave a written answer to the question of Rajya Sabha MP Sushil Kumar Modi. In which it has been said that so far 31 thousand 624 PNG (Piped Natural Gas) connections have been given in Patna.

GAIL was given the task of delivering gas through pine lines to homes in Patna. 270 crores have been spent in this scheme of Rs 395 crores. The Union Minister said that this work was given to GAIL in March 2018 and it was given 5 years to complete the work. But till July 31, 2021, more than 31 and a half thousand connections have been given.
