PATNA: Bihar BJP veteran and former deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi has fired yet another salvo at RJD chief Lalu Prasad and his family, alleging the Prasads own assets worth Rs 115 crore in south Delhi's upscale New Friends Colony. The leader of opposition in Bihar legislative council said at a press conference in Patna on Saturday that AB Exports Pvt Ltd, a `shell firm' run by the Lalu family, owns a 800sqm plot (D-1088) in New Friends Colony. The plot's current market value is estimated to be around Rs 55 crore, Modi said, adding the family is constructing a four-storey building worth Rs 60 crore on the land.According to the Union ministry of corporate affairs's website, AB Exports was established on February 16, 1996. Its current address is D-1088, New Friends Colony , south Delhi, and the current directors are Lalu's third daughter Chanda Yadav and fourth daughter Ragini Lalu. It deals in wholesale trade of household goods, according to the website."At least 98% shares in AB Exports are currently owned by Lalu's younger son and Bihar deputy CM Tejashwi Prasad Yadav," Modi said. The BJP MLC also released documents to support his claim that the A B Exports purchased the D-1088 plot for Rs 4.99 crore in 2007-08. "The money for this purchase came to A B Exports through convertible debentures of roughly Rs 1crore each issued by Mumbai-based jewellery firms Alka Diamond Industries, Real Gold Trading Co Pvt Ltd, Hema Trading Co Pvt Ltd and Yash V Jewels Ltd as well as one Lexus Infotech Pvt Ltd," Modi said, adding the directors and the shareholders of AB Export at that time were Ashok Kumar Banthia and Sangita Banthia.Modi said AB Exports's ownership was gradually transferred from the Banthias to the Lalu family after the purchase of D-1088. "Tejashwi became AB Exports's director in 2011 and Lalu's elder son Tej Pratap in 2014. Later, Chanda and Ragini were made the directors in their place," Modi said, and wondered why the Banthias transfered their firm to the Lalu family .The former deputy CM also quoted official documents to claim AB Exports do not have any employee on its rolls at present. "I urge CM Nitish Kumar to initiate action against the two minister sons of Lalu under the Prevention of Corruption Act for their involvement in financial forgeries," he said.
