Train services hit as Inter students continue protests against results

PATNA/ARA: Train and road services were paralysed across the state on Thursday as student organisations affiliated to the Left parties protested poor results of Intermediate examination conducted by Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB).Hundreds of students with flags and banners in their hands forcibly stopped trains in Ara, Patna, Vaishali, Begusarai, Jehanabad and Gaya districts, police said.In state capital, the angry students, led by AISF, AISA, SFI and AIDSO activists, marched towards Intermediate Council office from Bhagat Singh Chowk near Gandhi Maidan with banners, flags and posters. "He assured us that the government will consider the demands of the students, which include re-evaluation of answer sheets, suspension of education minister and BSEB chairman and action against those responsible for another topper 'scam'," the AISF state secretary said.The students have also demanded action against the SHOs of Pirbahore and Gandhi Maidan police stations Qaisar Alam and Nikhil Ranjan, respectively, for allegedly misbehaving with the students during the protests over the last one week.A large number of students, backed by Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), staged a protest outside the office of the Intermediate Council on Thursday and blocked the road for hours.
