PATNA: Patna boy Aviral Chandra, who now lives at San Francisco in the US, has made the state proud by developing a new device to track assets and materials stored inside the houses, warehouses, factories and collieries with centimetre level accuracy. He also praised the dedicated team of Aviral for working tirelessly on such a difficult project in the US. It will help them in tracking intruders," Aviral said.Aviral, an alumni of IIT Mumbai and son of Railway Board official A K Chandra, said the newly developed device would also help coal miners and collieries in tracking the assets stored either in warehouses or inside the underground collieries. PATNA: Patna boy Aviral Chandra, who now lives at San Francisco in the US, has made the state proud by developing a new device to track assets and materials stored inside the houses, warehouses, factories and collieries with centimetre level accuracy. The new device is the localised version of GPS (global positioning system).Inspired by PM Narendra Modi's Make in India concept, Aviral, a former student of DPS-Patna, worked hard on his research project for about three years at the Sensus Labs in the US to invent a new device to track assets and materials in any building or place. "The new device could help even military personnel to carry out anti-insurgency operations, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir. It will help them in tracking intruders," Aviral said.Aviral, an alumni of IIT Mumbai and son of Railway Board official A K Chandra, said the newly developed device would also help coal miners and collieries in tracking the assets stored either in warehouses or inside the underground collieries. "The new device would hardly cost few hundred US dollars. Retailers can also track their assets and stored materials inside the store houses," he said.Aviral, who is currently in Patna, seems to be passionate about creating something new in the field of science and technology. He feels that his new device would prove a boon for the museums where many costly and rare pieces of antiques and articles are kept from safety point of view. "Officials at the national and defence museums could find it convenient to track rare pieces and articles with the help of the new tracking system device," he said.According to Aviral, invention of new tracking device is also aimed at promoting PM Narendra Modi's Startup India campaign as it will encourage budding entrepreneurs to start new ventures in the field of science and technology.Meanwhile, Dr Nagraj, a noted scientist of NASA's space engineering research project, has lauded Aviral for inventing such an effective and useful tracking device. He also praised the dedicated team of Aviral for working tirelessly on such a difficult project in the US.
