Survey says, 37% women in Bihar feel husbands have right to beat them

This class which call themselves as ‘mard’ (male) do not hesitate to abuse their women verbally and even physically. A study, conducted by IIPS, shows 37% women in the state feel that their husbands have right to torture them physically.

    35% women say husband can beat if she neglects house or children.


    30% women say husband can beat if she does not cook properly.


    29% women say husband can beat if she does infidelity.


    56% working women agreed with at least one reason for wife-beating.
