"There are several truck operators associations and they are taking turns to protest every month. Off the road: Trucks and lorries parked on the Puducherry-Tindivanam National Highway near Gorimedu following the nationwide strike called by the association on Monday. The association has called for an indefinite strike against the rising toll charges, diesel prices and third party insurance programme. However, Pondicherry Goods Lorry Owners and Booking Agents Association is not supporting the strike and has not issued any official statement with regard to the indefinite strike, a spokesman said.
