A 22-year-old woman was injured when a country-made bomb exploded while she was cleaning her house at Kadatheripakkam near Vanur here on Monday. She placed it outside the house when a country-made bomb inside it exploded, injuring her on the legs. The police said Meenakshi, wife of Arivazhagan, a painter, was cleaning her house when she found a plastic container for storing fish. The police said Karthik, Mr. Arivazhagan’s friend, hailing from Sedrapet in Puducherry, had handed over the explosive to him. She was rushed to the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (Jipmer) in Puducherry.
