The 21st Neyveli Book Fair (June 29-July 8), organised by NLC India Ltd (NLCIL), commenced at the Book Fair Grounds here on Friday. Opening the 10-day event, Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit said: “A book fair is a celebration of books; it is a celebration of the reading habit. It is a celebration of authors and thinkers; it is a celebration of knowledge.”The Governor honoured author C. Mohan. Book launch events, felicitation of eminent writers and publishers, various competitions for schoolchildren and cultural shows scheduled over 10 days. NLCIL has been organising the fair for 20 years.
