Govt employees to get HRA as per 7th pay commission
- | Wednesday | 22nd August, 2018
The government had two years ago implemented the 7th Pay Commission recommendations without making effect the HRA component of the new pay scale. Around 23,000 government employees will get an enhanced House Rent Allowance (HRA) from this month as the territorial administration has decided to implement HRA as per the 7th Pay Commission Recommendations. The implementation of the new HRA pay package as per 7th commission recommendation would cost the government ?5 to ?6 crore per month. Announcing the decision at a press conference here on Tuesday, Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy said the allowance of the employees will increase by at least 2.5 times. “Though the government is facing a severe financial crisis, we will not shy away from addressing the demands of its employees,” he said.
