Government may consider direct recruitment of staff

A release from the Chief Minister’s Office said the government would fill the vacancies through direct recruitment in three months. A majority of the vacancies were in the general administration, health, social welfare and police departments. Chief Minister V. Naraynasamy along with Minister for Public Works A. Namassivayam, Social Welfare Minister M. Kandasamy, Minister for Tourism Malladi Krishna Rao and Minister for Power R. Kamalakannan held a high-level official meeting to initiate steps to fill the vacancies. A majority of the vacancies were in the general administration, health, social welfare and police departments. A release from the Chief Minister’s Office said the government would fill the vacancies through direct recruitment in three months. The notification would be issued in a month’s time, the release said. Recruitment imperative It was essential to fill these vacancies for the smooth functioning of departments and effective delivery of government schemes. Besides, the recruitment would help unemployed youth get jobs, the release added. Chief Secretary Ashwani Kumar and other secretaries gave a detailed explanation on the modalities to be followed in filling the vacancies. The Secretaries explained about court cases relating to certain posts and its present status.
